Spirits, Various — A Tetraptych

Four photographs of the same field of moon jellies at the Moody Gardens aquarium in Galveston, Texas.

We tried to see them. They were feeding. We walked the entire aquarium, then walked it backward, until we found them again.

I stood in one place. The aquarium's lighting cycle rotated through the room — pink, peach, green, gold. The jellies didn't change. The water didn't change. Only the light changed.

This is what the same evening looks like four different ways.
